Re: [MW:5854] STRESS RELIEVING REQUIREMENT

Dear Friends,

ASME B31.3 - Piping code PWHT is specified for CS piping irrespective fluid service ,but  for nomimal thickness 3/4" or 19.05mm above .

PWHT pertaining ot steam generation , ASME B31.1 may be referred.

With respect to your question PWHT for D fluid service above 20mm , I do not expect any piping with 20mm thickness as normally D Fluid service will be 150 class piping.

Pl check the thickness involved in D Fluid service.

For NACE piping it is not mandatroy that all thickness  PWHT is required as per code ,but you are required to follow Project speciciations of client.

Hello,

As per ASME B31.3; for CS material PWHT
requirement is above 20mm.

Is this applicable to category D fluid
service class also?

Or code has given liberty to skip PWHT
for category D fluid service even though thickness is greater than 20mm.

Pls. advise.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks & Regards,
