[MW:0] Changing of SS Scotchkote Flange

Dear All,

Share your experience and guide me for the below issue. Thanks in
advance.

We have a centrifugal blower, in that 1000 mm DIA SS316 pipe was
connected. Insulation was done for 50 mm thick.

It has Scotchkote Flange (loose flange) of 1000 mm, the flange was 16
mm thk, the wall thk of the pressed collar was 8 mm, it is connected
with swing valve with two flanges, now it is leaking on the joint.

Client instructed to change the flange itself. That is we should cut
the flange and put new one of 30 mm thick, the new flange will cum in
two halves. We need to remove the insulation and cut the existing
flange by plasma cutting and we want to put the two halves and we want
to carry out welding on the joints and we need join again with same
setup.

My doubt whether the leak will arrest now ??

or

Can we cut the pressed collar and put higher thick 12 mm or more with
new flange?

What to do if again the leak was not arrested??

Kindly share your experience.

Regards,
Vijay.
