Re: [MW:5498] Difference between ASTM and API pipes

Prasad,

It is all depends on design criteria and strength.API 1104 code is specially made for pipelines .If you see deeply ,there is not much difference between them .Ex: chemical & mechanical properties are bit same.

Hi,

Any body can tell what is major differences between ASTM and API pipes.  Whay we can not use A 106 Gr.B in  place of API 5L Gr. B.  Why ASTM spec. pipes are not used for pipe lines.  Is there any supply conditions are diffrerent or test required are different.

please share your ideas.
