Re: [MW:5072] Orifice Flanges

Orifice Flanges are always 300LBS and above. Dimensions similarity of B16.36 to B16.5  is as under(i.e.for the sizes indicated, the dimensions of 16.36 & 16.5 are same):
300LBS-8" thro 24"(extreme sizes included)
400LBS-4" thro 24"(extreme sizes included)
600LBS-4" thro 24"(extreme sizes included)
900LBS-3" thro 12"(extreme sizes included)
1500LBS-2" thro 12"(extreme sizes included)
2500LBS-1.1/2" thro 12"(extreme sizes included)
For sizes other than above,B16.36 is to be followed for dimensions of orifice flanges

Dear Members,

Kindly please explain what ANSI Code should be used as referral in the Mill Cert's for Orifice Flanges?

An example, We found an Orifice Flange having pressure rating of #150.
If we refer to ANSI B16.36, it only explains for Orifice Flange of more than #300...........while the Mill Certs refers to B16.5 and not to B16.36

Does it mean that the material is not complying to the code?? are there any explanations for the #150 Orifice??....

Thank you & Regards

Ofazni
