Re: [MW:5068] Orifice Flanges

I'll like to know where 150# Orifice flanges are used? As normally, orifice meters minimum rating  is 300#.  Hence, orifice flanges are of 300#.

Mat.certificate shall reflect ANSI B16.36 as well; as it covers additional dimensional detail than ASME B16.5.
As you are referring to Mill certificate ASME B16.5 is correct since 16.36 gives reference of 16.5 only.

Subject: [MW:5066] Orifice Flanges

Dear Members,

Kindly please explain what ANSI Code should be used as referral in the Mill Cert's for Orifice Flanges?

An example, We found an Orifice Flange having pressure rating of #150.
If we refer to ANSI B16.36, it only explains for Orifice Flange of more than #300...........while the Mill Certs refers to B16.5 and not to B16.36

Does it mean that the material is not complying to the code?? are there any explanations for the #150 Orifice??....

Thank you & Regards

Ofazni
