RE: [MW:4954] Acceptability of Inconel pipe.

it is not the hydrostatic test pressure, refer para 5.2 of SB829 for hydrostatic test pressure calculations.

Subject: [MW:4952] Acceptability of Inconel pipe.
For our new ASME job, we need inconel materials and we are not so familiar with this. We checked three test certificate from different supplier for inconel 625 (3” Sch160, smls) pipe and here all hydrostatic test is conducted at 8829 psi. But as per ASME Section II, Part B, ED 07, Add08 hydrostatic test pressure shall be 30000psi for SB444, UNS N06625, Gr.1 material. So please advise me that anyway we can accept material having the preesure test value of 8829 psi.

And also please explain what is allowable fiber stress and from where we get values of allowable fibre stress for this material.

Thanks & Regards,
