Hi Danial,

What is the problem your facing for routing the FF line under ground or above ground.Only NFPA gives Guide line for designing the system.There is no such standards for routing the line above ground or underground.

But only the thing you need to care is insulating flange if your network is having cathodic protection.Routing the line above ground or underground you need to fallow the client specification and requirement.If you have parallel underground lines running together then you need to think about line spacing requirement for maintenance.

If you have any specific problem please send it to me.Then i can give you some information to solve the problem.

Other than that there is no problem for routing line above ground or below ground.

My opinion it was to left the piping underground......
 
Anyone can tell me what code or specs show the position(above or underground) of fire fighting system inside the farm......(or safety regulation....)
