[MW:4356] Doubt in welding

Dear Sir,

We are executing a job in a cement plant for reconditioning of LS crusher primary rotor. All the ribs got worn out upto 80mm and need a build up of 80mm with final layer of hardfacing. We have recommended the following combiniation for the said job.

1. Cushioning layer :Alloy Base Fe, Cr, Mn, Ni which is highly wrok hardening in service.High resistance to impact and deformation

2. Build up:  Ally base Cr, Mn, C, Fe which is tough austenitic managanese based steel welding alloy to resist high impact

3.Hardfacing: Alloy base: Fe, Cr, Mn which is resistant to low stress scratchiing and high stress grinding abrasion.

Now our colleagues have welded one phase using a single buffer layer and and build up upto 80 mm completely with the electrode without using any ms plate. The job got cracked and the crack was opened up to 10 to 15 mm width.

Kindly let me know how to repair the crack without spoiling the build up much and how to carry the rest three phases.

Please advice and suggest, your quciker reply helps me a lot.

Best Regards

G.Srinivas
