[MW:3992] P1 Gr1 PQR with impact will support P1/S1 Gr2 material?

Friends,

I have come across a typical issue as below,

  1. Material is API 5L X-65 – S No 1 Gr.2
  2. Impact required at -29 deg.C
  3. Welding as per ASME Sec IX

I have a PQR which is SA 106 Gr B (P1 Gr 1) Impact tested at -30 deg.C

Can I support this PQR for S1 Gr 2 or P1 Gr 2? My client is rejected this and asking for PQR which was done on Group 2 materials either on S1 or P1.

Could you let me know, since my client is seeking evidence as per Sec IX? How to convince them that Gr 1 impact tested can also be used for Gr 2 materials.

Regards,

Vasanth
