Re: RE: [MW:3800] type coated Bolts carbon steel bolts ( A193 Gr. B7 ) fo Stainless steel flanges

Hi Everyone,

SS bolts are very costly and not all coustomer advise to use in all lines, It depend how critical is your line is otherwise, galvanise bolts with insulation washer (kit) is a cheaper option instead of  SS bolts.

Please inform bolts are required for onshore or offshore environment.

In offshore environments,

For SS flanges, even SS304 /316 ( due to crevice corrosion problems in corrosive atmosphere ) Bolts are not preferred,

CS Galvanised bolts are any way not preferred due to galvanic corrosion problems ( I think )

We use

a. UNS 32760 Bolts or

b. CS/LTCS + Fluropolymer coated bolts (see attachment)

Hello all,

Please recommend me the type of coated carbon steel bolts ( A193 Gr. B7 ) to use with stainless steel flanges.
