Hi ,All
Could any body would like to share his suggestions that, in one of the project, for Spiral (Helical Seam SAW Carbon Steel pipes as per API5L 44th Ed. ), client requirement for weld impact test is, ( test temperature, minus 30 degree centigrade and weld impact value minimum 27 Joules, Charpy Vee notch Impact test, Specimen size 10 x 10 x55 mm) While we are testing in our facilities regularly ( minus 3 degree centigrade ) as per the other projects requirements and getting satisfactory results. We did the same weld impact test at ( minus 30 degree centigrade but got the value, ( B/W 18 to 25 J) lower than 27 Joules, we are in touch with Welding wire and flux(SAW) supplier to recommend the suitable combination of welding wire and flux to meet the weld impact test requirements ( ie, Minimum 27 Joules @ -30 degree centigrade).
Looking forward to get your expert opinion also on this subject.
Thanks & Best Regards
Farukh
