[MW:3146] Rv: [MW:3135] RE: 3134] RE: 3133] Weld over lay on the inner surface of an elbow

Hi Chandulal
In my opinion your idea is good and you should check the resistance of stainless steel used against corrosion and erosion under the environment and chemistry of the fluid.

Excuse me if my inglish is not good.

This is the elbow connected to a heat exchanger (Process Steam Generator) which takes Process water and steam to process water stripper column.

Assuming your design code as B31.3 for ¾" wall thickness no PWHT is required for the weld overlay, since it is not a metal to metal contact, any Stainless steel weld overlay can serve the purpose.

We have a problem of erosion by steam + water jet.

Material of the elbow is A234-WPBW Thickness: 0.75" Diameter: 28" Long Radius

We would like to have hard facing on the inner surface without the need for PWHT.

Can any one suggest suitable WPS for the same?
