[MW:3113] Re: Hydrotest for high pressure piping

Dear,

Refers to some references, the effect of HT is notch nullification, how this effect will be covered by only NDE?

Dear Nick Davies,
As i mentioned before, there are no isolation point. This line has 1 welded valve. We not sure whether this valve can withstand the test pressure and possiblity of valve leak.

Tong,

you should perform a pressure test on the pipeline, do you have valves in the line? there must be some tie-in points or valves in the line?

Dear All,
I have one tie-in point. The material is SA 312 TP316L. The test pressure is 350 bar and operating pressure is 250 bar. The big problem is there are no isolation point so hydrotest can't be performed on it. When I refer to API 570, clause 8.2.6 stated that when a pressure test is not necessary or practical, NDE shall be utilized in lieu of a pressure test. Due to this line is high pressure, is it enough only perform the NDT ? How suppose i do to convince our management level regarding integrity of the weldment ? Please help me. Thank in advance and you cooperation is highly appreciated
