You can not qualify PQR this way for groove ,This is a case of repair of rod. or partial penetration weld,
For this configuration you have stated , you need to qualify the separate PQR with min 30mm thk base metal with full penetration joint

We have made a Test Sample of dia 60 mm solid rod with a groove of 13 mm depth for qualifiy a WPS.
Can anyone tell what is the minimum and maximum thickness qualifid in this case?
