Hi
We test both 2G & 3G at the same time & we checked every thing such as welder ,joint preparation &etc. We have the same PQR in our last project & done without any problem. we can not decrease the root gap because then we should change the electrode size & we dont want to change. My query is why for these two position in the exactly same situation we got a different result ? I think this is the problem in this lot of electrode but what problem I don't know?

Hi!

Actually the welders skill and joint fit up plays major role in avoiding Porosity in addition to proper baking of electrodes, cleaning of weld joint, air draft on the job .etc

I presume the porosity intensity is more in root and that is due to air get sucked during welding from opposite side of root joint.

i)Why not to try with reducing the root gap say from 0-1mm with root face of say 2mm . and  welding  with min weaving , with short arc.

Were both tests, 3G and 2G done within the environmental exposure limit times for low hydrogen rods?

Hi,  You are correct, Minimum refers to the one cycle for which this part will expose until final work shop PWHT. hence mill test certificate shall include this.  Max. SPWHT, refers to additional cycles of heat treatment that are reserved for future repairs during equipment lifetime.  Again, these simulated no.
