Hi!
Actually the welders skill and joint fit up plays major role in avoiding Porosity in addition to proper baking of electrodes, cleaning of weld joint, air draft on the job .etc
I presume the porosity intensity is more in root and that is due to air get sucked during welding from opposite side of root joint.
i)Why not to try with reducing the root gap say from 0-1mm with root face of say 2mm . and welding with min weaving , with short arc.
