[MW:2107] RE: 2106] RE: 2059] Steeloscopy Test

A brief search of the internet shows steeloscopy is Russian terminology for an arc/spark emission spectral analysis for chemical determination - thus a requirement for steeloscopy a steeloscopy test is a a requirement for PMI (chemical analysis) using the arc/spark technique/equipment.  There are a number of portable instruments available - depending on application you might propose using portable X-ray flourescence (XRF).  Arc/spark emmission spectral analysis can be much more accurate and can test for low atomic wieght elements not routinely "seen" by XRF.

As per Russian norms, Steeloscopy Test is to be performed for pressure vessels. I request members to guide me about what this test is?

Thank you,
