Dear sandy

Why do you want to pass water in the tube while welding It is not at all recommended. If you are worried about distortion , Better put sant or / some refractory powder in the tube to avoid distortion. Fast cooling will cause distortion and increase in hardness causing cracks

Hi everybody

I want ot weld a pad of 20thk X 25X75 mm on a tube o/d 75 mm and I/d 60 mm. i want to provide inside cooling in tube by providing water flow and after that i shall do welding. I want to know what effect that procedure produce on weld mtal due to increased cooling rate. The tube material is ST-52 and consumable is ER70S-6.

If anyone have solution then please give me.
