[MW:1927] Re: 1224] RE: 1220] Re: usage of phased array probes in TOFD

Dear Raghavendra,

Attached abstracts may be helpful to you!

When used in conjunction, these two techniques allow for higher probability of detection (POD), normally requiring a great amount of time and/or experienced UT inspectors.

Dear Raghvendra,

May be correction required in your question. Using PA probes along with TOFD probes (simultaneously both method on one joint) - If that is the case Answer is yes.

FYI : TOFD probes are having normal connectors (lemo) where PA probes are coming with the multi point connector (to take care of each crystal energizing)

I hope your doubt might have cleared.

Regards.

Dear all,

How on earth can you do ToFD by attaching Phased Array probes. Totally not possible. These are two different techniques. I agree with SSK.

PRV,

This is not possible as per me. Better go to www.ndt.net, write in technical disscussion forum some can give you some inputs. That one is purely NDT site.

Whether any one belonging to this group used the above combination for performing TOFD by using Phased Array probe. If so pl.share the experience and procedure.
