[MW:1757] Re: 1733] ASME Sec VIII Div 1 vessel nozzle repair

To carry out the repair of this equipment following steps will help you.
1. Ask your supplier if they are having the "R" Stamp or Not. If they are having the "R" stamp then better to get repair through them only.
2. AI involvement is definitely required.
3. for repair the repair procedure (excavation, WPS, PQR NDT ) to be prepared and submitted to AI approval. If you are using the same fabricator(manufacturer) then job will move smoothly.
4. Repair and required heat treatments to be carried out as per the QAP and approved repair plan.
5.Required NDT to be completed  and get approved by AI.
6.After completion all of this "R" stamps to be put on the equipment.

Before doing all this inquire with your end user are they allow the R stamp vessel to be installed in their plant?
