[MW:1587] Re: weld profile

Dear Mr. Ali Asghari,

In general you should perform such Burr grinding treatment on all
highly stressed / loaded weld connections in a structure. The problem
is that most structures have a little bit different lay-out for the
branch connections therefore a FEM calulation should be performed
before you cand determine the welds which should be treated. In
general you can say that all connections of interest are in the top
side of such structures. I have only little expirience with branch
connections in Offshore structures and more in Bridges, there we not
treat the full circumferential weld length but only the highly loaded
side, I'm not sure if you can / may apply such on Offshore structures
as well.

Best Regards,

Herman Pieper
